A customer wanted a shaped Spongebob cake for her teenage daughter’s birthday. Sadly, I had to inform her about copyright restrictions, and she was very understanding. Her daughter’s second love was running, so she asked for a sneaker and was kind enough to leave all the decorations up to me. I was working at a grocery store, and I had limited access to research material, so it should be noted that I cut this shoe completely freehand without a stencil, picture, or even a sketch. I am an avid collector of unique sneakers, and I am very familiar with their shape. Even though Spongebob was out, I still tried to bring a little cartoony flare to the decoration.
