Customers have asked, and I’ve seen them popping up in other shops here and there, so I decided it was time to bring Cake Pops to the Honey Bear. Traditionally, this item involves reconstituted cake scraps bound together with icing or pudding, rolled into a ball, and dipped in chocolate. However, I don’t think that tastes very good. Instead, I started by baking round balls of cake using a special pan.
I used the candied apple method of presentation because it makes the display way less complicated. You can still enjoy them just like a lollipop (watch out for the last bite, though; I almost lost mine as it fell from the stick). I’m starting with chocolate cake, but soon there will be vanilla cake, and eventually flavors such as mint, lemon, and raspberry. It’s a very exciting new world, but I still say it’s a very strange fad.
