Sometimes words come out of my mouth without first consulting my brain. My co-worker wanted something fun to put on his friends birthday cake. It wasn’t a landmark birthday, and his hobbies had already been played out in cake form. He wanted something different, to which I responded “Like Elvis riding a unicorn?” He was immediately intrigued, which forced me to actually listen to the words coming out of my mouth as I repeated myself.
I rarely get to put my own art on a cake. There was only one image that came up in the internet search for Elvis riding a unicorn, and it didn’t come anywhere close to the picture in my head. The western theme just seemed to follow naturally after sticking Elvis on a unicorn. The central piece is made out of chocolate with cream cheese for the hair and a little bit of glitter dust here and there to really bring it to life.
There was a bit of internal debate of whether to go with skinny Elvis or fat Elvis. My new motto is “When in doubt, you can never go wrong with fat Elvis.”
