If you haven’t read any books by Christopher Moore, you’re missing out. A fantastic comedic writer, I had the honor of finally meeting him while promoting his latest book, Sacré Bleu. His book only came out 2 days before, so I haven’t had the chance to read it, but it looks amazing. I mean it literally looks amazing with it’s full color illustrations, gorgeous cover art, and dark blue font. Rumor has it, the paper back isn’t going to be as pretty, so I highly recommend the hardback. With plenty of blue Sharpies in tow, Christopher Moore brought his A-game comedy and had everyone rolling with laughter. He was truly a delight in person, and I look forward to many more books.
I read the synopsis for Sacré Bleu, and I noticed the main character was not only a painter/baker, which personally, I find awesome, but the topic of Vincent Van Gogh was going to be a key point. A co-worker of mine mentioned, upon previous encounters, that Christopher Moore had a twisted sense of humor, so I figured the following cupcake was the most appropriate.
This is a White Chocolate Raspberry cupcake. The ear is made out of chocolate, and I am aware it turned out looking like an oddly emphasized number 3. However, next time I make a severed ear cupcake, I’m sure it will turn out much better. Unfortunately, Mr. Moore was taking a break from carbs during his book tour, and I hope I didn’t tempt him into deviating from his diet. I’m happy he made such a wonderful face for the photo, and I can’t wait to read the book.
