Mother’s Day comes to mind when I think of May, which inspires many unique delicate flavors.
Tres Leches cake is the perfect way to showcase fresh spring time berries. Layers of fluffy cake drizzled with tres leches sauce, whipped cream, and fresh fruit.
Next up is a brand new flavor, Honey Lavender Cupcakes. It takes a very careful hand to perfectly balance the sweetness of the honey with floral notes of the lavender oil in buttercream icing, too much of either one would make the icing very dissatisfying. Originally I had the icing on a vanilla cupcake, but the chocolate cupcake is so much better.
This next one is from last year, brought back by popular demand. Lemon Ginger cupcakes are made with lemon juice and grated ginger mixed with cream cheese icing on top of a white chocolate cupcake.
