An elegant cake for an elegant venue.
This customer brought in an image of a fondant cake that I duplicated using cream cheese icing.
The color of the ribbon was a complicated task because the bride brought in a sample with bits of purple in an otherwise cobalt blue ribbon. This is actually a very fashion forward color choice that ribbon makers will probably take 2-5 years to catch up with. For now I had to layer a sheer purple ribbon with a blue ribbon to get the desired color, coupled with a pendant that the couple provided. The black dots in the diamond pattern are candy beads.
I delivered this cake to a hotel in downtown Seattle, which was a first for me as most of my cakes end up in Lake City and Woodinville. It was a nerve-racking adventure up and down all the steep hills, and I’m happy it made it in one piece. Congratulations to the newly weds, and I hope to see them again on their first anniversary.
