Seasonal treats both spooky and simply festive. With Halloween around the corner I thought it would be fun to play around with some shaped cakes, just like the old days. I started out simple.
This is a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese icing. I wanted to do many more of these, but we ran out of pumpkin spice cake, so I switched to apple spice.
This is an Old Fashioned Apple cake, which is one of our new seasonal flavors. Due to the wonderful response and popularity of this cake, I know I’ll be bringing it back next fall.
This is simply a Black and White cake with just the cutest little happy face you’ve ever seen. It almost makes up for the last cake I made.
I was actually trying to make Frankenstein’s monster look ambivalent and angsty, but instead he ended up looking pensive. It’s a tough life being a Mint Chocolate cake, but someone has to do it.
I’m also pleased to announce the newest edition to our dessert family, Caramel Apples.
I love caramel apples, and I decided to share my love with my customers. My range of flavors is limited by the refrigerated cake case (M&M’s and crunchy toppings are no match for refrigeration). So far I’ve done S’Mores, Turtle, and Chocolate Peanut Butter. I’m toying with the idea of some simply chocolate variations and maybe some sweetened coconut if I’m feeling adventurous.
