I don’t do nearly enough cakes honoring our members of the armed services. Someone recently gave me a little insight into the whole copyright low down, too, when it comes to their logos.
I used to be wary of all privately owned logos. However, I finally realized that the armed services would never sue a company that sets out to honor their members. Whether it be the Army, Navy, National Guard, etc., none of them would penalize a cake decorator for putting their logo on a cake to commemorate a job well done. This is technically my second armed forces cake, but I hope to do many more.
This customer dropped off a design from a favor box cake. I wasn’t even aware this was a thing, but it seems pretty cool. Anywho, I couldn’t find a flag that matched the design the customer gave me, so I took an image of a waving flag and did my best to make it look like a weathered stencil, which worked out in my favor because our flag has a lot of stars on it. It’s not my most amazing work, but I decided to share it in case anyone was wondering if I do armed forces cake.
