Jeremy Shada is most well known for voicing Finn the Human from Adventure Time. I got the chance to meet him at the Emerald City Comicon. When I first saw the face behind the voice, I didn’t realize how much of a fan following he has. There were several very wonderfully dressed teen cosplayers who made Jeremy Shada their first stop at comicon, and a 45 minute delay due to traffic did not deter them.
Jeremy Shada is by far the youngest celebrity to receive a cupcake, and hasn’t had the time to develop his portfolio of accomplishments, but so far he’s demonstrated great potential towards having a long and rewarding career. He does acting in front of the camera and from inside a sound booth and he’s a youtube star with his remarkable singing voice. He’s also constantly on the go with public appearances and charity work, which you can see from his whirlwind twitter activity. He even had the time to pass his high school exit test last year.
Jeremy Shada received a Mocha cupcake with mocha buttercream, chocolate cake, and chocolate decor. Someone totally kicked my bag on my way to see him, summersaulting the cupcake into the side of the box. He assured me he still appreciated the gesture, and with a little artful jiggling I at least managed to get the cupcake right side up in its container for the picture. He was very sweet to his fans, who were mostly young swooning girls, and did a fantastic job keeping up the energy levels, especially with long lines and long days. I also had the chance to watch both of the voice actor panels, and I have to admit, Jeremy Shada does an amazing Ice King impression.
This is my second celebrity related to Adventure Time, and I’d love to meet more. I’ve almost met John DiMaggio twice now, but he’s canceled at the last minute both times. Perhaps Tom Kenny? Jeremy Shada is a great kid, and he’s wonderful with his fans. Adventure Time is in its 6th season and going strong. I’d like to see him get some more work in front of the camera, and I’m sure his fans would agree.
