This Golden Anniversary cake was for some very dear family friends at a beautiful location in Seattle.
My favorite part about this cake was that they found the original wedding topper, and it fit perfectly on the cake.
I did quite a bit of research on this one, looking at cakes from 50 years ago and today. I submitted some sketches, and the couple’s children agreed they liked this modern one the most. Originally, the Happy Anniversary plaque was the topper, so dropping it to the 2nd tier was a last minute change up, as in a text message the morning of, that I think worked out really well. There were also some super cute cupcakes that went along with the cake made by one of the grandkids. The weather was perfect, the water was calm, and I highly recommend the Center for Wooden Boats as a destination for a special occasion.
